三亚华侨学校成为海南省第一家及唯一一家IB世界学校 Sanya Overseas Chinese School - The first and only IB World School in Hainan -

中华新闻社电 （记者 常建国）今年6月，三亚华侨学校成功获得IBO（国际文凭组织）授权，顺利成为海南省第一家也是唯一一家的IB世界学校。
In June 2020, Sanya Overseas Chinese School has successfully been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to be the first and only IB World School in the Hainan Province.
 
IBO成立于1968年，迄今为止在全球158个国家有5,000多所学校开设IB课程。IBO致力于为3-19岁的学生提供智力、心理、个人发展和社会技能等方面的教育，使其获得学习、工作以及生存于世的各项能力。IB课程与A-level、AP课程并称三大国际课程。
The IBO was founded in 1968.  The IB curriculum has been offered in more than 5,000 schools in 158 countries worldwide to date. IBO provides education for students aged 3-19 in intelligence, emotion, personal development and social skills so that they acquire skills for learning, working and meeting any other challenges in the future. The IB curriculum is ranked among the top three international curricula, namely A-level and AP.
 
IB课程有四个项目，分別是大学预科项目DP（Diploma Programme）、职业相关项目CP （Career-related Programme）、中学项目MYP（Middle Years Programme）和小学项目PYP（Primary Years Programme）。其中DP课程是一项针对16至19岁学生的严谨、具挑战性且均衡的两年制大学预科课程。IB着重终身教育（Education for Life），强调全人发展，致力于培养学生的探究精神、审辩思维，提升学生的行动力与创造力。其教育理想是培养具有国际视野、理解和尊重文化的多元性、富有人道主义精神的世界公民。IB毕业生受到世界各国绝大多数大学的青睐。
IBO has four programs, including the DP (Diploma Program), the CP (Career-related Programme), the MYP (Middle Years Program) and the PYP (Primary Years Program). The DP is a rigorous, challenging and balanced two-year college preparatory course for students aged 16-19. The IB highly values “Education for Life”, which emphasizes whole-person development and is committed to cultivating students' inquiry and critical thinking, as well as enhancing students' motivation and creativity. The mission of IB is to cultivate a global citizen with an international perspective, awareness of humanitarian causes, understanding and respect for cultural diversity. The IBDP graduates are favored by most universities around the world.
 
三亚华侨学校于2018年3月向IBO组织递交申请，同年5月通过初审，成为IBDP候选学校。在多位资深国际教育专家带领下及经过两年多的筹备，在今年5月28-29日，三亚华侨学校接受IBO的授权验证访校，并在6月18日成功获得授权，正式成为IB世界学校。自此，中国最南端的省份——海南省终于插上了IB国际教育的第一面旗帜。
Sanya Overseas Chinese School submitted the application to the IBO in March 2018 and passed the preliminary examination in May 2018, becoming an IBDP candidate school. Led by several experienced international education experts with more than two years of preparation, Sanya Overseas Chinese School has gone through the Virtual Verification Visit by the IBO on 28^th and 29^th May this year, and has successfully been authorized as an IB World School on 18^th June 2020.  Since then, the IB International Education has extended its boundary to the Hainan Province, China's southernmost province.

Hainan is currently in the initial stage of actively building the International Free Trade Port.  At this very moment, the establishment of Sanya Overseas Chinese School as the first and only IB World School in the Hainan Province has significant importance in the long-term development of the Province.
